ACTION NEEDED to stop the execution of Dennis Skillicorn

Dennis Skillicorn has been sentenced to be executed on May 20th, 2009. There are several reasons why Dennis' case is particularly troubling. Dennis was not the triggerman in the 1994 murder of Richard Drummond. Skillicorn was a quarter mile away in a car when Allen Nicklasson killed Drummond. Nicklasson has repeatedly stated that Dennis Skillicorn was in no way involved with the murder. Since his imprisonment 14 years ago, Dennis has has served in a variety of leadership and ministry positions and been a model inmate.

History of Skillicorn execution dates In July 2008, the Missouri Supreme Court set an execution date of August 27th for Dennis Skillicorn. At this time, Skillicorn's attorney's attempted to enter Potosi Correctional Center to interview those who had worked with Dennis for the creation of his clemency application. His attorney's filed a complaint that they were denied access to the Potosi employees. The Missouri Supreme Court granted Dennis a stay of execution so his attorney's could interview witnesses at Potosi. An execution date has now been rescheduled for May 20, 2009.
